It's getting noisey with creatures clamoring to be first in line for creation! Oh be still for awhile... At least let me drink my tea 1st!

It's been like this for 3 weeks now.

One after the other come knocking, no, banging! on the door of my imagination, stating matter of factly that 'I want to be done 1st'!! Then you've got the one's who, until now, have been waiting quite patiently, saying 'What about me?? I was here BEFORE them!!'

I really could do with one of those old-fashioned school bells to call timeout!!

I can't even switch off to go to sleep without at least one poking me into grumbling submission to scribble out a sketch of them, which is so vague (with sleep deprivation) that by morning i've got no idea what this blotchy mess with eyes is supposed to be?! Well, i'm sure it'll come back to me when i've started on the clay...

On the upside to all of this is the sense of Magick that seems to have gripped the house! Everything is prickling and shiney! Even shadows have a warm depth to them that you could climb into and get lost...

And so i welcome all the chattering and strange little lights, happy in the knowledge that these beings are sharing thier world with us and keeping the cats out of the studio and busy running up and down the stairs chasing goodness knows what?!

Artwork ~ This is my own art and is Titled:  'What dreams may come'

Autumnal Blessings to you all! Don't forget to say a quiet word of thanks to Mother Nature for the bounty of foods she has provided to sustain us through the Winters cold months. Sometimes in this modern day we forget what it is was like to live by the seasons, and to prepare for Winter by gathering fire woods, preserving foods and making the home Winter proof. Be thankfull for what you have.

It's been super busy at Urchynwood HQ as we prepare for the forthcoming Witches' Market in the Isles of Avalon! The Urchynians that are coming with us are super excited at the chance to see and be seen! They haven't stopped fidgeting since I told them! There is going to be a guest appearance from one particular Urchynian, but i'm not saying who!!!

Boxes are stacked up in the entrance ready to be double checked, full to the brims with artwork merchandise! I've finally located my cash tin! It decided to hide in a completely different cupboard than the one I put it in!! Told you those Urchynians were getting fidgety!!

I've decided to let go of some my original artworks. I've only got so much wall space here and so thought it better if someone else appreciated them! These will be available at the Witches' Market also.

New banner and business cards arrived just time! I love them!! I've even got a custom made stamp with the Urchynwood logo! I'm stamping everything I can find!! Teehee!!

It has been blowing a gale for the past two days. Lot's of plants are taking a beating in the garden and I've given up rectifying the toppled over plant pots! Dog walks are brisk and not without hairmessing! On the upside though, it's nice to sit with warm wooley socks and hot chocolate after braving the winds, and look out at our Weeping Birch tree swaying hypnotically. I'm currently working on a new doll, and have plenty of tiny pin pricks for my trouble! Really need to stay focused when I'm sewing and not watch TV at the same time!! Trying out a new method for Ears! Seems to be working.... we'll see when it's crunch time of putting everything together. What's life without a few risks!! :-)

He carries a large leather bag to collect anything he finds interesting, from pretty pebbles and feathers to can rings and pen caps!

Above is Ely ~ The dreamkeeper and Inkstain.
Ely is based on a sloth with a Scrooge nightshirt and cap! He carries a little jar of dreamdust ready to sprinkle on children who won't got to sleep!! Ely, when he can be bothered to stand straight, is 28" tall!

Inkstain is a mouse who is training to be a calligrapher and map maker. He carries a large black quill pen. Inkstain is 12" tall.

Hope you like them!!

The wall is silence, the grass is sleep,

Tall trees of peace their vigil keep,

And the Fairy of Dreams with moth-wings furled

Plays soft on her flute to the drowsy world.

This was the very first sculpture i attempted! Based on far too many creatures to mention, they all just kind of blended to form this furry little guy! Nicknamed 'Glampator'

Next is my attempt at doing a Faery. She was named 'Rowena' by a good friend.

Rowena was made whilst watching Wendy Froud's DVD 'Create a Faery Figure'. I learn't alot from that having made several mistakes along the way! I think i'm good to say i've ironed most of them out, and have come to settle on my own style since these early days too.

To all who have ventured here, hello!
You will have to bear with me here as i'm stomping around the place trying to find out where everything is, and failing miserably! Oh well!
So i thought i'd introduce myself. *Ah hem* My name is Jennie Cooper and i'm the creatress of Secrets of Urchynwood.
Ooooo i hear you whisper...what be that then??
Well. I make Ooak (one of a kind) sculptures that can be moved and posed. They vary in sizings and all live in Urchynwood. There you will see Faeries and Imps, Brownies and Creatures. All from the realms of the Neverseen.
I wll be posting pictures and tales of adventurings of myself and my clan, along with anything else that will fit inbetween!
So hold on tight, put on your pyjama's and be ready to go at a moments notice!
The journey begins last night....
